Pepsi's Intro

Hi this is Pepsi

Stole my mum's iPad and thought I would tell you a bit about myself.

First here is my photo

Ok that's me I am ummmmmm 21 weeks old and I have been here for 5 weeks. I hope they are going to keep me. This is my third home since I left my doggy mum back before Christmas. It makes me sad to think that people didn't love me enough to keep me.

But I have been here so long now and really behaved myself so hopefully I can stay. I love cuddles and I make a really good alarm clock as mum gets up at 5am to get ready for work and to feed me, dad takes me for a walk every morning, sometimes we meet my friend the spaniel but not every morning. When mum gets back we have lunch and after a zzzzzz we go for a walk, yesterday we went round Stourhead, the sniffs were brilliant, daffodils, snowdrops, and I met ducks, swans and moorhens.

The sun was shining and it was warm and not raining, it's strange not to get wet.

Here I am enjoying the sunshine and watching the ducks

Now mum says I have to confess that I am not a perfect angel, I think I am but she says she has the evidence

Honest mum I was just trying to learn to knit, I wanted to help with a blanket for the Yorkie rescue cos I am not the only Yorkie who finds it hard to have a forever home.

Now I am tired, had breakfast and got to get some energy for my big walk mum says we are going to explore a place called Broad Robin

Bye for now

Christmas is coming

Well this week has been great and I can now announce that the Old Town Lock Up will be open every Saturday morning as from the 9th November 2013.

We are also now planning our Christmas grotto for everyone's enjoyment with the aid of lights, baubles and tinsel we will turn the Lock Up into a grotto.

Only one major make this week and that is a new ring, I wanted a tartan texture on the two square bowls and the amber cabochon to be offset.

This week I am planning a new silver pendant for sale this Christmas. Designed from my idea of the sea it will incorporate drop caste silver, and a half pearl on a background of a fishing net fashioned out of silver. Watch this space for the completed design.

I also have a couple of new glass dishes this week and a couple more about to undergo their slump in the kiln. There are also new pendants and one much loved pendant which has now found a new home.
This pendant was made using dichroic glass and it has sterling silver findings.

I have started a new hobby, very new but I am taking tiny baby steps on the path to creating cards. I am learning from the incredible Barbara Grey, her tutorials, DVD and blog.
here is a Christmas card I made today after doing one of her lessons

I have learnt so much and hopefully will learn enough to tackle a golden wedding anniversary card in the next couple of weeks.

Many thanks Barbara for your brilliant lessons.

Thursday and we are open for a new week

Well it's Thursday morning and we are open for a new week. Have a couple of bits of new jewellery this week. A new bracelet and a couple of pendants

The pendants are made from dichroic glass, several layers giving lots of reflected and refracted colours. The bracelet are handmade lampwork beads mixed with Swarovski crystals with handmade sterling silver findings.

Our handmade cards brilliant, we have 4 designers at the moment, soon to be 5 each one offering a different take on cards.

Here's a shot of the inside of the shop

The Old Town Lock Up

I have owned this little building for 18 months and have used it as my glass workshop whilst I have been working full time.

This month I have opened it as a gift shop, we stock gifts made by local artisans.

This was built around 1730 and was in use as the town jail from 1750 Tp 1880 when it reverted to a beer cellar, since then it has been a store for beer, furniture and even a garage.

The previous owner did a lot of work on the inside and I have been able to open it as a shop.

All the gifts are locally made by craftsmen, we have potters, wood turners, textile experts producing designer handbags and handmade quilts, photographers and card makers as well as myself making silver jewellery and glass pendants and beads.

My latest is a ring I designed last week, it includes a piece of drop cast silver. I also have one of these on sale in the Lock Up.
